It’s possible that 24-year-old James Gulley really did look suspicious when he was driving in 18-year-old Leandro Dominguez’s neighborhood. I don’t know; I wasn’t there.
But Dominguez took it on himself to follow Gulley around, truck to truck. Gulley finally pulled over and got out of the truck to see why this guy was following him.
Dominguez says he saw the imprint of a gun on Gulley’s person. Also possible, because Gulley was definitely carrying. Dominguez wisely decided to leave.
Gulley then followed him around for a little bit. Leandro told detectives that he called his brother Mauricio, 22, and told him, “Be ready, this guy’s following me, let’s go.”
But Gulley quit following him after a while. The confrontation was over. Until Leandro and Mauricio decided that it wasn’t.
