If you’re an old woman who lives alone, it’s helpful to have surveillance cameras on your home — and an armed son-in-law living nearby.
At 6 o’clock on a Saturday morning, a 74-year-old woman looked into the cameras in her Whitehorn Cove, Oklahoma home only to discover that an unknown man was standing on her front porch.
She called her son-in-law, who lives next door. He armed himself with a handgun and came over to check things out.
We don’t know why the man was there, but we know that things got heated, and the son-in-law shot the intruder twice. He was airlifted to the hospital and was expected to survive.

I can find only two sources for this: News on 6 and Fox 23. They’re both similar, they both gave airtime to the story, and they both feature Sheriff Chris Elliott talking about the incident.
Now, now, Jake, try "older woman" instead of "old woman" -- I mean, I am 73 and refuse to call myself an "old woman" yet! (No, I am not actually offended, just being silly.) I do admit I'm glad to have a young couple moving in next door . . . :)
