A family had just recently moved to Statesville, North Carolina. It was a Tuesday evening, and Dad was making dinner for his seven-year-old son.
Out of the blue, a man they didn’t know walked into the house. He was acting strange, getting aggressive, demanding thousands of dollars that Dad owed him. Of course, Dad didn’t owe him anything and had never met him.
Dad asked the man to leave, repeatedly, but that just wound the man up. When the man punched him in the face, that was it: Dad shot him once in the torso.
