Collinsville, Illinois is a small city of ~25,000 people, about 14 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. It claims to be the horseradish capital of the world, which definitely sounds inviting to me — your mileage may vary.
That’s where a man showed up on a front porch on St. Louis Road a little before 6 PM on a Tuesday night.
The homeowner didn’t know him. The man refused to leave. The homeowner asked him repeatedly. He still refused. The homeowner retreated inside, retrieved his firearm, and continued asking the man to go.
The stranger opened the storm door.
The homeowner told him that if he continued, he would be shot.
So the man said the homeowner would have to shoot him.
