Did you know that the Bay City Rollers were from the UK, and were named after Bay City, Michigan, by the throw of a dart?

Oh, you don’t know who the Bay City Rollers were? Just as well. I don’t know much more about their more-famous musical spawn, Madonna, either, and I’m probably a happier man for it.

But trouble isn’t only sonic in Bay City. Late on a Monday afternoon — April Fools’ Day — it came in the form of a 33-year-old man. He was armed with a pipe.

And he broke into an apartment.

The 200 block of N Jefferson St is pretty residential, so it might have been a multi-family home. It’s just possible that this detail was wrong, but I doubt it.

That old saying about bringing a knife to a gunfight? Yeah, it applies to pipes, too. One of the residents was home, and he shot the intruder twice in the torso.
