This would be the first significant attempt against the renters. The guy who hired them is now (in 2024) groveling to his boss, who is furious and threatening him if he doesn't get them very, very soon -- which is made more difficult because of all the attention the shooting provided. Then there's the second attempt, which also fails; the boss then kills the guy who hired Rosas & co and then failed the second time, saying, "I'll have to handle this... personally." The third attempt is where the the boss tries to kill them directly, and I won't tell you the rest because spoilers.
