Original incident: November 6, 2023. When a man known for ranting at the neighbors tries to break in, you do what you have to do.

Imagine that there’s someone in your neighborhood who was known “for screaming and yelling in the area” and that he had been “pretty scary at times, you know, pretty aggressive.”
Now imagine your shock when you find that guy trying to break into your home at 9:45 on a typical Monday morning.
That morning was November 6, 2023, in Vallejo, California. The resident, who was inside, confronted the intruder and then shot him in what the police said “appears to be self-defense.” He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Area residents described the intruder to news agencies and said that they felt he was responsible for his own death.
One neighbor marveled at the fact that the incident occurred close to a place station in broad daylight. Unfortunately, a police station around the corner doesn’t automatically protect a home or the people inside it.
