Good Guy with a Gun #192: San Antonio, TX
Police arrived and released the attacker. Then they figured out who the attacker was. | Original incident: May 11, 2024
These posts are based on our Good Guy with a Gun calendar. Today’s post is essentially the same as the calendar version.
Sometimes, your intrepid editors dig deep to find out what’s going on in a really interesting story, and we find a rich vein of interesting material.
This is not one of those times.
Don’t get me wrong, I tried to dig, but I hit bedrock and made it no further.
Here’s what happened:
In the southside of San Antonio, Texas, two men defended themselves against a 55-year-old man attacking them with a crowbar. One of them, a 26-year-old, fired several shots at him.
Responding police at first thought the older man was the victim. They released him and arrested the two other men when they found them nearby.
Upon investigation, the police discovered the armed man acted in self-defense and defense of his companion. That flipped the script on the police, who then started looking for the attacker whom they had already released.
Why did the older man attack the men with a crowbar?
Did they ever find him?
Did the three know each other?
Were there drugs or alcohol involved?
Why were the men still in the area after the incident?
Did they call 911, or did someone else call it in?
No idea.
So be it. As usual, the good guy with a gun is underdocumented.
