Richland County is home to Columbia, South Carolina’s state capitol, and is in the geographic center of the state. This story appears to come from one of its suburbs, a little north of the Columbia city center.
Around 4 PM on a Sunday, a woman pulled into her own driveway in Richland County. The man tailing her was 41-year-old Antwan Ashley.
There was an active order of protection against him because of a history of domestic violence.
When they got out of their cars, he got aggressive and tried to hit her. Luckily, she was armed; she shot him, and Ashley died at the scene.
By the next day, Sheriff Leon Lott had completed his investigation and ruled the shooting justified.
