A restraining order, a red-flag order, two confiscated guns. He was still one defender away from killing his ex-girlfriend. | Original incident: July 17, 2024
Thank God for the step-son. I am so against red-flag laws, though. As this story shows, they don't really do any good -- if someone is determined to kill, he'll find a way. And such laws would end up like CPS laws -- your neighbor holds different political opinions or his dog barks at night or whatever, so call the cops, claim you're afraid, and have his guns confiscated. ALL such laws become harsher than they begin and are abused by vindictive people.

Everyone who has ever dealt with a bully -- on their own or with their kids -- knows that bullies know how to manipulate anti-bully laws.
Sadly, that doesn't seem to apply to a whole lot of elected officials . . .
Ain't that the truth.
