Good Guy with a Gun #264: Tulsa, OK
Someone was in the kitchen, and it wasn't Dinah. Now he's the cutest little jailbird you ever did see. | Original incident: July 22, 2024
These posts are based on our Good Guy with a Gun calendar. Today’s post is essentially the same as the calendar version.
Someone’s in the kitchen with… burglary tools?
Around 2:30 AM, a Tulsa couple woke to noise at their back door. The husband got up to check and found a stranger standing in his kitchen.
He fired his weapon at the intruder, who bolted for the backyard with an armload of stolen goods. The intruder didn’t make it much past the fence line before he went down.
Officers found him in the yard with the loot, his burglary tools, and a gunshot wound, and called an ambulance. He went to the hospital in critical condition.
“The homeowner didn’t recognize the intruder, and he did not have permission to be in the residence,” police said. A Tulsa police lieutenant added, “The homeowner had interrupted a burglary and shots had been fired from inside the residence and the suspect was hit.”
Police suggested that he might have hit other houses in the neighborhood that same morning; they said the case would go to the DA’s office for charges. (I haven’t found any in the news.)
A kitchen nightmare? Eat your heart out, Gordon Ramsay.
