There was an intruder in the house around eleven in the morning, and the homeowner’s spouse shot him.1
The homeowner called Albuquerque police, and when officers arrived the homeowner came out of the house and answered their questions.
The intruder had fled. All the officers found was a blood trail leading away from the house.
So they went looking. They worked the neighborhood for a gunshot victim and didn’t find anybody bleeding.
There was a heavy police presence near a park while they searched for the suspect and for evidence, and the local hospitals were told to keep an eye out for anyone who walked in with a gunshot wound.
That’s the whole story: a short item in one local outlet, and no follow-up I can find.
