A man in the Beechcroft News Stand in Columbus took something from a cooler and put it in his pocket. An employee saw it and confronted him.
The man drew a silver handgun and pointed it at him.
The employee called for his brother. His brother pulled out his own gun and shot the man.
That’s the whole story, as far as I can find. The man was 20-year-old Eli Pennington. Whatever he’d pocketed, it got him charged with aggravated robbery, which is a first-degree felony; a judge set his bond at $25,000.
Am I my brother’s keeper? At the Beechcroft News Stand, yes.
