These posts are based on our Good Guy with a Gun calendar. Today’s post is essentially the same as the calendar version.
A 23-year-old man was driving in Chicago’s Washington Park neighborhood at around noon on a Friday when he noticed a man and a woman fighting on the sidewalk.
He stopped and got out of his car to intervene. Anyone would expect to get resistance in that situation — get out of here, none of your business, leave it alone — but the arguing man went beyond words and pulled a gun on him.
The Good Samaritan was legally armed: He had a Firearm Owners Identification Card and a Concealed Carry License. He drew his own firearm and shot the aggressor in the chest. The man died later at the hospital.
The Good Samaritan stayed and cooperated with police.
