Good Guy with a Gun #37: Sandy Springs, GA
Original incident: December 3, 2023. A home invader threatens an armed resident, with predictable results.
This is the kind of content featured in the 2026 Good Guy with a Gun one-page-per-day desk calendar.
Just after 2 AM on a quiet Sandy Springs street, an intruder forced his way into a home on Spalding Drive. Once inside, he threatened to harm the homeowner in front of his family.
The homeowner had a firearm. Another resident called 911 while the threat was still escalating.
The police are incredibly important for a civilized society, but they can’t possibly respond quickly enough to situations like this.
Sure enough, the homeowner fired his weapon, and when Sandy Springs police rolled up a few minutes later, the intruder was already dead from the gunshot wounds.
Police quickly called it an isolated incident, saying the homeowner, in “exercising his Second Amendment right to bear arms, defended himself and his family from bodily harm by shooting the suspect.”
