Good Guy with a Gun #234: Spring, TX
He broke in and rushed the homeowner, who shot him, called 911, and tried to save his life. Only one outlet noticed. | Original incident: June 22, 2024
These posts are based on our Good Guy with a Gun calendar. Today’s post is essentially the same as the calendar version.
Spring, Texas, is a good-sized town, north of Houston, spread over northern Harris and southern Montgomery counties.
At about 6:20 AM on a June morning, someone invaded a home on Shadowcrest Lane in the Montgomery County section of Spring. The homeowner apparently confronted the invader, and the invader rushed him.
Fortunately, the homeowner was armed. He shot the invader and immediately called 911. He tried to save the invader’s life, but to no avail: EMS personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him dead at the scene.
That’s pretty much all we know. The Good Guy with a Gun isn’t a myth: He’s just under-documented.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office posted their report online and on Facebook. There wasn’t anything particularly interesting in the comments, other than the fact that people don’t understand how grand juries work.
Local news
A man died, but only one news source covered it that I can find: Woodlands Online.

Sean Holt did what most local news didn’t, covering it for USACarry.

I understand Sean Holt's concern about trying to save the life of someone who just attacked you, but I don't know how you'd just sit there watching him die, either . . .
